I also am getting the error
plexmediaplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libcec.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
.sudo pacman -S libcec
did NOT work for me.sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libcec.so.6 /usr/lib/libcec.so.5
did work.boennhoff commented on 2020-07-17 13:29 (UTC)
I had the same problem @Scarecr0w, seems like the ABI of libcec changed. Most straightforward way to fix this is reinstalling this package!

@Scarecr0w a quick fix: sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libcec.so.6 /usr/lib/libcec.so.5

Can you please change PKGBUILD to include arch=('i686' 'x86_64' 'armv7h' 'aarch64') This installs fine on my Pi4 once I edit the PKGBUILD and install manually. If you throw in the aarch64 line, I can use it from AUR directly and maintain update.

Having issues with 1080p h265/HEVC files stuttering significantly in PMP but playing smoothly when opened directly with MPV.

The last update of libcec (5.0.0) breaks Plex-Media-Player and requires a clean build.

I am getting a crash if I run this app in the stadalone mode. Any ideas what can go wrong?

My audio issue still exists with the 2.53.0-2 release.
@Palshife: are you asking for an upstream github bug because of my audio issue? I already made one eventually about the compilation issues with QT-5.14, which was closed because right now it officially only compiles against 5.9.5...
If someone is interested: I created a
PKGBUILD
for the AppImage variant. Don't forget the companion fileplexmediaplayer.sh

That's unfortunate, @boennhoff, but I can't say I'm too surprised. They changed a lot in the transition to 5.14, so there are probably other less obvious defects now. I've received other reports of strangeness, like video not playing back on the first attempt, but working fine on the second.
I make no guarantees on how much time I'll have to spend on it, but I hope you'll open an issue on the Github repo so I can track it. Hopefully I can get something functional out.
