An upgrade to v1.2.0+ may cause spotify-listener to not work. To fix this, you can run systemctl --user daemon-reload or restart your computer.

The package stopped working for me as the ipc mechanism of polybar changed. This is also tracked here https://github.com/mihirlad55/polybar-spotify-module/issues/36 and there is already a Pull-Request open for the changes https://github.com/mihirlad55/polybar-spotify-module/pull/39.

Maybe you could temporary apply the "patch" to this package to make it work with the current arch version of polybar?
