Package needs following changes:

  • Install to standard locations, not /usr/local.
  • Update license string to GPL-3.0-only (or at your option, GPL-3.0-or-later, since you are the upstream developer)
  • Guard path variables with quotes because they can contain spaces ($srcdir, $pkgdir)
  • Generate .SRCINFO with command: makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO
  • Add some rust/cargo environment variables, per rust package guidelines.

You’re welcome @tellmeY!
If you need any guidance or info, feel free to ask on the aur-general mailing list. Have fun!

hey @Auerhuhn Thank you for your feedback. This is my first attempt in creating and maintaining an aur program. I've made the changes you've suggested do tryout pooi and let me know what I could improve. Any contribution is deeply appreciated.

Don't edit .SRCINFO manually. You can use for example makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO to generate it from PKGBUILD.

Hi @tellmeY, thanks for your contribution!

Would you mind fixing the following issues with your PKGBUILD?

  1. The URL given in the url field returns a 404. I think the username is wrong (tellmeY18 instead of tellmeY).

  2. The source URL is a little problematic, because GitLab CI usually doesn’t keep job artifacts around indefinitely. Please consider using https://gitlab.com/tellmeY/pooi/-/archive/v1.0.0/pooi-v1.0.0.tar.gz instead, which is much more stable. Thanks!
