The pkgrel bump is to force an update. The release version is still 0.3.9, but there are frequent changes.

It seems pretty hard to understand whom to believe to:

This is the same fork (same github, twitter and private keys) as the one that was called popcortime on aur until it was shut down.

And took the name Popcorntime CE when it already existed, because they wanted to be confused with the popular community edition.

I think this is the least confusing name, unless there are better ideas. Popcorntime-sh would only be good until they change their domain name.

Beyond the war between and, one thing is certain: they are ALL forks. Which means that, to be honest, no package should keep the old name "popcorntime".

The guys from, whether they are right about and MPAA or not, did one good thing: they changed the name of their package (their version is called “PopcornTime CE”).

I would propose to rename this AUR package as well – something like “popcorntime-sh”.

I really think that keeping the name “just popcorntime” is misleading and should be avoided, at least here on AUR.

Far too much propaganda from

There is no reason why (trying to gain popularity by claiming to be "the official community edition", impersonating others ( and accusing other forks of being fake) should be more trustworthy than There is no evidence of being a honeypot, only's claim, and there is no reasonable explanation why the MPAA would do this.

Please use source at This one is a MPAA controlled honeypot.
