(this conflicts with some more specific AUR packages such as: ttf-ubuntu-mono-powerline-git, but this isn't specified in the PKGBUILD)

pablox, your best bet might be to install just the font you want if a package is available for it, e.g., https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-anonymous-pro-powerline-git/. In the future I could break this package apart into each individual font that hasn't got it's own package yet, including PowerlineSymbols.otf. That way, python-powerline-git could just depend on ttf-powerline-symbols-git. It would require some coordination with the maintainer of the python-powerline-git package, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me. I will probably get some time to this weekend to begin breaking things up. Is there a particular font(s) you're interested in that I should prioritize?

How is that this package conflicts with python-powerline-git? powerline-fonts-git: /etc/fonts/conf.avail/10-powerline-symbols.conf exists in filesystem powerline-fonts-git: /usr/share/fonts/OTF/PowerlineSymbols.otf exists in filesystem pacman -Qo /etc/fonts/conf.avail/10-powerlines-ymbols.conf /etc/fonts/conf.avail/10-powerline-symbols.conf is owned by python-powerline-git 1480.23b43d8-1 pacman -Qo /usr/share/fonts/OTF/PowerlineSymbols.otf /usr/share/fonts/OTF/PowerlineSymbols.otf is owned by python-powerline-git 1480.23b43d8-1 I know this is weird issue, because you should be able to install these fonts without asuming you are also using powerline, but on the other hand, it is very likely someone who installs this package, also has python-powerline installed. Any idea?

@hexchain, you should be able to install them side by side now. This was fixed upstream: https://github.com/Lokaltog/powerline-fonts/pull/65

Looks good to me. There will be one more downgrade complaint ('r51' is smaller than '1ceb...' - just count the number of characters in each!) but from now on, it should all behave as expected. Thanks!
