with reguard to systemd unit file, the following worked for me. Create /etc/systemd/system/pwrstatd.service with the following content:

[Unit]
Description=CyberPower UPS

[Service]
ExecStart=/usr/sbin/pwrstatd

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

Then start the daemon with 'systemctl start pwrstatd'.

gzip should be a builddep.

And the last few commands at the bottom shouldn't be "/bin/gzip", because the "which gzip" says "/usr/bin/gzip". Ideally those /usr/share/man lines should start with just "gzip"

I try to start it as a daemon with "rc.d start pwrstatd". It says it started, but when I use "pwrstat -status" for example (as root), it says "Daemon service is not found. It says it has started with "rc.d status pwrstatd".

When I start it with "pwrstatd" as root, it works.

I think it's the daemon script that has a problem. I'll check it out at the end of the week.

And when I try to just build it with makepkg -s I get:
