@0000000011111111 in that case I don't think there is anything I can do, really. I will leave things as they are. Do you happen to know the config directory of brave-beta? Could it be something like $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser-Beta? I could add it to the list...

@coxackie, it's not a symlink anymore for new installs, but my suggestion was that people who had it installed prior to it moving to the new folder, might have had an update where it symlinked them (or had to do so manually), there was even someone pointing this out here:

@0000000011111111 I am confused, do you only have Brave Nightly installed, and not Brave? I just installed nightly, keeping the stable brave, and there are two folders, and Brave-Browser-Nightly is certainly not a symlink to Brave-Browser.

@coxackie I might be able to help here, it appears that:

$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser-Nightly

is now a symlink to:

$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser

@bmhussaincov93 I am not using brave-nightly, but you can help me by telling me what the config directory is. It used to be $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser-Nightly. Has is changed? Can you take a look?

hi, this does not seemb to work for me. i'm using overlayfs. brave version i'm using, Brave Version 1.57.29 Chromium: 115.0.5790.114 (Official Build) dev (64-bit) here's my relevent part of my psd.conf if this helps?

BROWSERS=(brave-nightly) even when the setting is changed so that all browsers are detected brave is not. I would be greatful if you could look in to this?

@coxackie thank you for your job. I opened a request package in "Chaotic AUR" repository in order to have this package also in Chaotic AUR repo. Link: https://github.com/chaotic-aur/packages/issues/2138

@coxackie, yes, I can confirm that now it works out of box, no manual hacking necessary anymore, thanks for your quick fix and prompt communication

coxackie commented on 2022-07-18 19:20 (UTC)

@carlitos I added support for nightly, the browser entry would be brave-nightly. Could you please check if it works - I am not actually using Brave any more.

@coxackie, sorry for flagging the package out of date blindly, it really doesn't mention either beta or nightly. I am not sure about beta, but nightly has the same path as stable does, only the word "-Nightly" added at the end of the path.

$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser-Nightly

Thanks
