The "chaotic-aur" co-maintainer is a bot that pulls any merged PR in https://github.com/chaotic-aur/pkgbuild-proton-ge-custom-bin back to this package. So if you guys have contributions or bump versions earlier than the maintainer, please share them as PRs. The commits will keep your authorship.

Happy gaming!

Due to large changes in wine 6.5+, you will need to remove old/current prefixes for any games launched with this version. Old prefixes will not work.

superboringdev commented on 2021-05-10 21:20 (UTC)

Weird... prefix version is 6.7 but release is 6.8. ShellExecuteEx issue still there. I think proton-ge-custom is going downhill as we speak. Not to blame GE, as it seems to be mainly an upstream issue.

Thank you, I will try that if the current method I'm using does not work.

You may also try building it in a chroot to see if it builds.
Take a look at this guide if you dont know hot to do that.

@unit73e I'm aware of that, however, it always errors out at one place or another and building it the Vagrant way seems to eliminate a few of those issues.

@superboringdev note that there's a proton-ge-custom package that does compile the whole code. You don't need to do it yourself.

Alright, thanks, makes sense. I thought you were building it directly instead of using the official archives.

I'm trying to build 6.4 without the origin download patch as suggested by GE to make GTA V Online sessions work again.

floriplum commented on 2021-04-28 02:58 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply.
I haven't tried to built it yet but following the official instructions should make it pretty straight forward. Since i already have a working vagrant setup(with libvirt not virtualbox) i try to build it on the weekend.
This package itself is not built by myself since it is using the binary provided in every release. If you want to look how it is done just take a quick peak at the PKGBUILD : )

Greetings
Flori

Do you use the official build instructions? If not, could you provide the commands you use and the packages required to build this package?

superboringdev commented on 2021-04-22 19:03 (UTC)

I'm hoping that this will be fixed in 6.6. There already is a tag for 6.6-GE-1.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to build proton-ge-custom, so I'm not able to test that. Do you have it built on your end?

Thanks
