The "chaotic-aur" co-maintainer is a bot that pulls any merged PR in https://github.com/chaotic-aur/pkgbuild-proton-ge-custom-bin back to this package. So if you guys have contributions or bump versions earlier than the maintainer, please share them as PRs. The commits will keep your authorship.

Happy gaming!

@malta95 upstream sometimes just updates the assets without new release - thanks for notifying.

The checksum of the archive is wrong. Here is a patch with the correct one:

@ruscur Currently yes, as the launcher script cannot co-exist. But i will make a new package for this script soon, making this package and the other one more vanilla.

ruscur commented on 2020-09-23 23:24 (UTC)

Does this really need to conflict with proton-ge-custom-bin?

The package should not have been flagged out of date because of a wrong binary location. (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Flagging_packages_out-of-date)

The flag also should have been removed by a maintainer so that flagging for a proper reason, such as the release of Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST at https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/download/5.9-GE-6-ST/Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST.tar.gz, can be done.

qontinuum commented on 2020-09-02 22:32 (UTC)

The binary is not supposed to be in /usr/local/bin (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_package_guidelines#Package_etiquette) Does this break the package if the binary is in /usr/bin?

The package does not pass checksum whether I use yay or makepkg.

The diff I get after running updpkgsums:

@maruja You will have to make a clean build, since upstream has used the same filename although it is technicaly not the same version of GE. That means that your aur helper (probably pamac) used a cached file to build but its not the correct one. Next time upstream will release a hotfix in this manner, the filename will change so this will not happen again. ;)

For now, open a terminal and issue the following command before updating.

$ pamac clean
