The "chaotic-aur" co-maintainer is a bot that pulls any merged PR in https://github.com/chaotic-aur/pkgbuild-proton-ge-custom-bin back to this package. So if you guys have contributions or bump versions earlier than the maintainer, please share them as PRs. The commits will keep your authorship.

Happy gaming!

Good day, failed to load several gstreamer plugins from the /usr/share/steam/compatibilitytools.d/proton-ge-custom/dist/lib and lib64/gstreamer-1.0/ folders. Should i delete these folders?

@ronneycz The green box is a markdown code block. Beginn and end the block with three backticks. Backup the config and delete the whole block for this game or change version string to test if this helps. As you see in my example, normaly it is perfectly fine to have some old, non-existent versions listed in the config to change later in the preferences. I have no idea why your steam client is crashing but i try to reproduce..

@Jaja The game is trying to run the older version of this package. Launching it also doesn't work. Forgive me, I don't know how to put the code into the green box.

"271590" { "name" "Proton-5.5-GE-1" "config" "" "Priority" "250" }

@ronneycz Steam crashing shall not be related to the fact that the version got updated, as this is a very common thing to happen. Nevertheless, something broke your steam to begin with, you can try to delete the mapping for the game in question from your config manually.

There is a config file named "~/.local/share/Steam/config/config.vdf" where you can find the key "CompatToolMapping". Every game has a mapping to a compatibility tool definded there.. look out for your game appID (https://steamdb.info/apps/) and delete it from the "CompatToolMapping". Please take a backup copy before changing anything!

Here is my mapping as an example:

 489   | "CompatToolMapping"
 490   │ {
 491   │   "0"
 492   │   {
 493   │   "name"      "Proton-5.6-GE-2"
 494   │   "config"        ""
 495   │   "Priority"      "75"
 496   │   }
 497   │   "620"
 498   │   {
 499   │   "name"      ""
 500   │   "config"        ""
 501   │   "Priority"      "250"
 502   │   }
 503   │   "1001860"
 504   │   {
 505   │   "name"      "Proton-5.1-GE-1"
 506   │   "config"        ""
 507   │   "Priority"      "250"
 508   │   }
 509   │   "70"
 510   │   {
 511   │   "name"      "Proton-5.5-GE-1"
 512   │   "config"        ""
 513   │   "Priority"      "250"
 514   │   }
 515   │   "400"
 516   │   {
 517   │   "name"      ""
 518   │   "config"        ""
 519   │   "Priority"      "250"
 520   │   }
 521   │   }

The game I chose to use this version now doesn't load "Properties" page, Steam crashes instead. Probably caused by the fact the chosen version had been updated.
