I've tried both suggestions from the comments to no avail. Do you have any plans to update this?

not really sure, on my 32bit the pkgbuild compiled into package without modifications, on 64bit system i had to add CPPFLAGS="-O2" before configure (otherwise errno.h) was not detected and defined

This has been failing to build for me. Configure appears to expect /lib/cpp to be a C preprocessor. Adding the following line before ./configure in the PKGBUILD fixes it. export CPP=$(which cpp)
