Yes, the Arch mailing list service has its peculiarities. Some email clients support "reply to mailing list". Mine doesn't. So I just hit "reply to all", and manually remove the noreply and notify addresses, so I'm left with the actual mailing list address and maybe the other stakeholder's private mail address (except in case the latter is configured to be hidden by that user).

Thank you very much!

About the replay with CC I am not sure. May email program says "Reply-To: noreply@aur.archlinux.org". I have not seen any hint that I was supposed to replay through email. I suppose the AUR implementation is to blame...

The package is a VCS package because it was never published as release. It is not to be up-to-date with developement. But now I see, you have a point that usually a VCS package means it is only practical when there is ongoing developement.

Hi @lks, thank you for your response.

You could have replied to the aur-requests@lists.archlinux.org address with a CC to my email.

The "development is discontinued" is not bullshit, it is just one justification point in favor of deleting a rolling VCS package after development has stopped for many years (in this case, 11 years).

But I am not here to enforce anything, and I don't even have the power to do so: I am merely a fellow AUR user.

I have revoked my deletion request as of now. Thank you again for taking the time to explain the use case of this package.

I got a deletion request from "MarsSeed". Apparently I cannot react otherwise.

"" Likely unused Python2 VCS package for 10+ year old Motorola cellphones. Development discontinued since 2012. ""

The package should work & there is no alternative when trying to flash a custom linux on a motorola A780 [1]. The phone is nearly 20 years old, true. You can still buy it on ebay if you want. The part about discontinued developement is bullshit, it is just a simple driver.

If you want to delete this package because nobody is using it, you can do it. Personally I don't see a reason of deleting a working package without an alternative, but maybe there is another policy.

For those who want to update from putusb: Do not update before sending me the "gen_blob" file. Otherwise there is one file missing in this package. Thank you!
