I didn't update to 2021.1.1 because there were some issues with the bundled java which prevented PyCharm from starting at all.

fails to start. I had to remove the line with UseConcMarkSweepGC from

$HOME/.config/JetBrains/PyCharm2021.1/pycharm64.vmoptions

to start pycharm

Ok I just manually modified PKGBUILD to build 2021.1.2, and PyCharm successfully starts up. I tested some basic stuff like creating a new project and debugging some Python code, and they all run without any issues. FYI I'm running KDE on Xorg on an Intel graphics card using the bundled jbr.
Did you try using the java runtime bundled with other JetBrains IDEs (like IntelliJ IDEA or CLion)? If they work then the one bundled with PyCharm should technically work as well.

Sadly, I still have issues with newer versions, and I really do not understand why! And it is non-reproducible too! If you want to test, you can try changing the pkgver and buildver in the PKGBUILD, update checksums, build it, and then tell me if it worked for you. If it did, the problem comes from me. Otherwise, it's from upstream or from a problem in the PKGBUILD.

Any luck with 2021.1.2?
