Thanks for that. I've adopted it and will merge my changes within a few days (I wasn't expecting you to respond so fast :) )

I remove myself as the maintainer since I haven't got a BB either time to test anymore. Feel free to adopt the package and do whatever you want

cheers

Unfortunately, upstream isn't terribly interested in supporting anything other than Debian. "This library only officially supports the BeagleBoard.org Debian images.", from https://github.com/adafruit/adafruit-beaglebone-io-python/issues/298#issuecomment-447675598

I have a working patch, and am willing to adopt this package.

Unfortunately I don't use any BBB anymore and can't maintain this package anymore. Try to post an issue on the github project.

Fails to compile for me on Beagle Bone Black with the error: error: cast between incompatible function types from 'PyObject * ()(PyObject , PyObject , PyObject )' {aka 'struct _object * ()(struct _object , struct _object , struct _object )'} to 'PyObject * ()(PyObject , PyObject )' {aka 'struct _object * ()(struct _object , struct _object )'} [-Werror=cast-function-type]
