python is a missing dependency. The license should be installed with the package.

@yochananmarqos Oh now I remember why I added conflicts and provides at the beginning... I've reverted the commit. Sorry for the trouble.

yochananmarqos commented on 2021-01-02 04:28

@wzyboy: While that may be true, there are conflicting files. Please revert the change. This is what happens when attempting to install python-magic:

python-magic: /usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/__pycache__/magic.cpython-39.opt-1.pyc exists in filesystem (owned by python-magic-ahupp)
python-magic: /usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/__pycache__/magic.cpython-39.pyc exists in filesystem (owned by python-magic-ahupp)
python-magic: /usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/magic.py exists in filesystem (owned by python-magic-ahupp)

@txtsd You are right. These two packages share the same name but does not provide the same interface. I've removed the conflicts and provides line. Thank you for pointing out.

Why does this package conflict with and provide the completely unrelated python-magic?

roachsinai commented on 2020-12-06 07:56

Sorry for bother! It's my fault, that my python system version is 3.8, but download and use a 3.9 package. Sorry.

Please bump a pkgrel for python 3.8 rebuild~

@renatocan: It seems that makepkg changed the way it handles dependencies. I have removed python2-magic-ahupp from the PKGBUILD. Now the issue has been resolved.

Hi,

I tried to install but I've got a message telling that python-magic-ahupp and python2-magic-ahupp conflict. After removing 'python2-magic-ahupp' from pkgname and trying again, the installation finished.

Thanks,

Renato
