There is no such dependency. The PKBUILD generates two pacman packages (one for python and one for python2). You can install only one of them at the same time.

I get an error when trying to install python-mapproxy. It looks like there is a dependency from python-mapproxy to python2-mapproxy, but they contain the same file. error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) /usr/bin/mapproxy-seed exists in both 'python2-mapproxy' and 'python-mapproxy' /usr/bin/mapproxy-util exists in both 'python2-mapproxy' and 'python-mapproxy' Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
