The package is currently unusable because it is missing a runtime dependency.
paddleocr 3.7.0 declares: Requires-Dist: paddlex[ocr-core]>=3.7.0,<3.8.0
but the PKGBUILD only depends on: python python-aiohttp python-requests python-typing_extensions python-yaml
Running paddleocr immediately fails with: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'paddlex'
Could you include the python-paddlex module and/or otherwise package the required paddlex module?.
There currently doesn't seem to be a python-paddlex package in the AUR/official repositories, so the package cannot work as packaged.

@jholmer try again.

The build appears to be failing for me with an error of
Missing dependencies: setuptools==72.1.0. If this is checking against the system python-setuptools package, that would make sense, given that the version in the Arch repos is82.0.1.
