Hi @caleb, I think the latest version bump introduced some oddities.

In particular: I am trying to use krop but it complains about a missing popplerqt5 module. Opening python3 in a terminal yields:

>>> import popplerqt5

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'popplerqt5'

This does not happen with python-poppler-qt5-git, and consequently krop works as expected.

Please let me know whether you can reproduce this behaviour or if you need me to do some more debugging.

Note I've converted this to use release tags from a fork. The original stopped being maintained in 2015, the fork has a series of releases through 2017 that include fixes for the patch this package used to apply. There is some activity on the master repo but no release tags.

Note OpenSUSE is also packaging the fork. See repology for a break down of who is packaging what.

sip is no longer a dependency of python-sip so this has to be added here.

When trying to install this I keep getting this error message:- cc1plus: warning: command line option ‘-Wstrict-prototypes’ is valid for C/ObjC but not for C++

(I need this for Frescobaldi music program)

$ which gcc

I had a problem in my PATH, the directories were in a wrong order and cuda uses gcc5. Everything works now. Thanks a lot !

I just have this warning:
cc1plus: attention : command line option « -Wstrict-prototypes » is valid for C/ObjC but not for C++

@contrebasse Do you have an updated system? From your error it seems that you have gcc version 5.4.0, but the newest is 6.3.1. Also, check that your version of python-sip is 4.19.1.

The build fails for me. The full error message can be found here:

But in short:

Updated the package with a patch that fixes the build issue with sip 4.19.

I had the same issue as neurOnic (coming from a python-sip API change). The problem seems to be solved with this patch (to put in place of the package patch):
