There are currently two conflicting ffmpeg modules for python. This package provides the new implementation.

  • pypi/ffmpeg-python - Old implementation. Development has apparently been abandoned.

    • aur/python-ffmpeg-python

  • pypi/python-ffmpeg - New implementation. Not fully compatible with the old module. May have fewer features.

    • aur/python-python-ffmpeg
    • aur/python-python-ffmpeg-git

@C0rn3j Naming of package, on GitGub, PyPI, and AUR, is to prevent name conflict with a similar package. Changing the name here would break an AUR package and reintroduce confusion about dependency selection.

EDIT: Welp, I missed that it's literally uploaded as python-ffmpeg on PyPi, despite the module being ffmpeg in the source, my bad.

The package name should be just python-ffmpeg.
