Great - makes perfect sense as a standard. Places all the security and dependency risks on pypi instead of the individual developers as well.

It's generally recommended to download from PyPI rather than github.

I was wondering why the package is pulling from pythonhosted instead of pulling from the vunit release on github instead? It would require adding a "git submodule update --init --recursive", but it would also get the most "original" version.
I suppose to best match the version pulled from pip, it makes sense to pull from pythonhosted instead, vs a python-vunit_hdl-git package.
