Ok, first let me figure out a way to automate the updating of the PKGBUILDs for non PyPI sources.

The issue you have linked has been open for a while now. I don't really agree with having Arch Linux releases (or any distro release for that matter) depend on PyPi which itself is primarily just another binary package repo like any other distro's repositories. It would be much appreciated if you could change the source from pypi to github.

No strong reason except to match what you get when doing a manual pip install and to have a consistent source for the packages. PyPI is supposed to be the official third-party python package repo.

There is a pending upstream bug about release on PyPI: https://github.com/vcstools/wstool/issues/150.

Is there a reason why we use pypi as the source instead of the releases from github? github releases are closer to the source and I believe that is preferred from the pypi releases when available.

The latest on PyPI and what you get when you do pip install is v0.1.17 (https://pypi.org/project/wstool/)

@kartikmohta you mind updating this package to 0.1.18?
