Thank you for tips. I updated the package and added you as co-maintainer in case you need to update it faster than I respond.

I merged python2-pika into this one. Go ahead and update the PKGBUILD.

Note that you usually can avoid duplicating the source directory like in the proposed gist and you can just build into different directories.

Take a look a this for reference: https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/python-oauthlib

I will try to talk with python2-pika maintainer to merge those packages. Thanks for contribution.

It seems like 0.10.0 version supports python3. I maintain python-pika version in AUR and one of package users proposed a combined PKGBUILD for both python2-pika and python-pika https://gist.github.com/SpotlightKid/e940c8709fba8913ea10 .

Would you like to merge packages and maintain combined PKGBUILD? Or I could do that if you prefer.

Here's an updated PKGBUILD for a split package, which can replace this one and python2-pika:

I guess the reason for the existence of the fork this package is based on is historical. Since the original from https://github.com/pika/pika and https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pika support Python 3 now as well, shouldn't this package be based on it and not on some unmaintained fork?

Hi, Synthead, if you are not interested in maintaining that package please disown it, I will take over the maintenance.

There is new pika:
"You are not using the most up to date version of the library. 0.9.14 is the newest version."

Hmm, I see it at the main github repo, but not at pypi or readthedocs... No worries, my main concern was python2-distribute

I don't think v0.9.6 has been released yet. Can you point me to that release?

dgbaley27 commented on 2012-10-20 20:47

0.9.6 is available. Also, python2-distribute is a makedepends
