I changed the source to

You could try pypdf2, but I am not sure if some changes are not needed then.

As of today, the website is down, preventing the source to be downloaded.
Do you know if it has been down for a long time?

Would PyPdf2 be a drop-in replacement?

I am currently trying to install Odoo, which depends on this package.

There is already a package for PyPdf2 -

Just in case this rises from the dead, Pypdf2 is very compatible. I've done one port already and it was a simple matter of changing the import line.

It would be great :)
I don't know how much "PyPdf2" is compatible but maybe it would be a better addition... (more maintained, python 3 support, etc).

Hi I wish to move python2-pypdf (as dependency of pdfshuffler) in the [community] repository. What do you think?

Could you tell me more about this issue ? It looks OK here.

There is a problem with the license.txt .

Packages without a package() function are deprecated.
Since this pkgbuild doesn't build anything (only install) you can rename build to package

python2-pypdf has been removed from [community] in connection with the Winter Cleanup, so it's no longer a duplicate package.
