The version requirements are coming from python2-pythons, but it is also maintained by me. So I'll look into it.

Also it doesn't really work well, needs a lot of addtional packages like python2-whoosh, python2-babel, python2-dateutil, python2-dulwich, python2-markdown, python2-simplejson, python2-mock, python2-py-bcrypt, etc. and some of them in other version than available in AUR.
Maybe there's a possibility to create a whole virtualenv and use pip install in the PKGBUILD.

You are right. There is python2-pylons and python2-paste in AUR. I'm not using it anymore so I am disowning it, feel free to adopt it!

I can't seem to find any packages that provide pylons or python-paste. Are they in the AUR or are they provided elsewhere?
