Syntax errors are still there but the build finishes. Doesn't install though. python2-zeroc-ice: /usr/bin/slice2py exists in filesystem

EDIT: And it works if I either remove ore move slice2py(like in the old PKGBUILD). So something must have been fixed somewhere else I guess?

Please try again with the recent PKGBUILD. slice2py has indeed been removed when installed from source (if needed, it is still available if installed via pip). However, the error reported while byte-compiling seems unrelated to slice2py.

Still failing to build, and this is a totally new system, inside a chroot too. slice2py is indeed not even generated https://gist.github.com/Lartza/95f0c3c82d26e16027d6cdb4b30e977d

(In general archbuild should produce much more reproducable builds than plain makepkg.)

@Arthemis I also have that problem. Have you ever tried building this package with archbuild? See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_Clean_Chroot

@mcnugit: I've got no idea what is happening in your case. The PKGBUILD works fine over here. You can try to comment out the last line in the package() function which is moving slice2py to slice2py2. This is purely done to avoid conflicts in case python-zeroc-ice is installed as well.

Anyhow, if no slice2py is created at all in $pkgdir/usr/bin, my guess is that the compilation failed somehow.

Disastro, this is a disaster, does not build.
