LOL. I just read that lxqt is about to move to Qt6 and wanted to of course make good on my promise… ok, wtf is the AUR git… … … hold on: Turns out I wasn't subscribed to the package because it's actually not mine =)

Upstream will default to Qt6 in the next 24h. Since I may or not have some users attention: anyone interested in dzen support? (I've some basic implementation, but since there's no real point is cloning dzen on X11 stashed that. However dzen will not work on (native) wayland, so I wonder whether anyone here would benefit from that - and to what extent. (The current implementation does the basics but no event handling or input functions like "^tw()" and I don't want to pointlessly bloat the code)

Sorry, I somehow managed to disable notifications for my own package… Yes, it's supposed to build and run on Qt6.

Afaiu it's somewhat popular along lxqt, which still uses Qt5, and I don't want to break the default behavior for those users nor trigger any AUR mods by adding qarma-git-qt6 and I don't know a 3rd option.

So the plan is to update this package once lxqt moves to Qt6 Until then, DekoDX's comment is correct.

for qt6 only 2 changes need to be made. depends=('qt6-base' ) build() { cd "${srcdir}/${pkgname/-git/}" qmake6 make }

I've tested these changes on my own setup and see no issues running without qt5

Hello, would you consider updating this package to use Qt6 instead of Qt5?

@seth Thanks! Updated.

https://github.com/luebking/qarma/commit/fcd6e34b99fdf43aa7f788e7b24c09a337706e68 adds an askpass mode that depends on the binary name (because setting SUDO_ASKPASS doesn't like parameters in the variable)

@dreieck I use qarma not because I write my own tools with it, but because there are programs that need zenity, and I want to avoid zenity's GTK dependencies. If qarma does not work for you, by all means, use zenity directly. But this package exists so that those of us who don't want GTK dependencies will have something that works most of the time.

Your suggestion of removing zenity in the provides array would be counterproductive to my purpose.

That aside, thanks for letting me know there are cases where qarma doesn't work. If I come across such cases in my own usage of qarma, I will stop using it.

This actually is not a drop-in replacement for zenity.

For example, the command

zenity --list --mid-search --window-icon question --title "Automirror" --text="Please select the primary output. All other outputs will be scaled to match." --column Output --column "Width [mm]" --column "Height [mm]" --column "Width [px]" --column "Height [px]"

(Taken from → this script)

displays correctly in zenity, while with qarma it produces a spurious --mid-search in the output (qarma seems not to handle this correctly). → Here is a screenshot of what happens with qarma.

So, I suggest that you remove zenity in the provides array.

Btw., rarr; here I filed an upstream bug report, but I don't expect it to be fixed.

Thanks for maintaining!

Hello, could you update download to git+https?

Nierro commented on 2019-08-30 17:38 (UTC)
