Anyone that gets a crash with the message "W: Font load failed.", By default it looks for two fonts: FreeMono (from gnu-free-fonts) and wqy-microhei (the default Sans Font), I found this by looking into the code: https://cgit.chrisoft.org/QMidiPlayer.git/tree/visualization/qmpvisualization.cpp

So just install both packages.

Another option is to go to: Settings -> Visualization-Video -> and place a path for a Custom Sans Font and Custom Monospace Font.

Hi, the PKGBUILD has been updated now. You can try again and see if there are still any building issues.

By the way, the original build script offered by the original author is actually for -git build, I've updated it to match the latest tag release instead of doing -git build, if you still prefer, please consider trying the qmidiplayer-git AUR package.

Reply to dreieck: I no longer use Arch Linux, and therefore cannot work on this PKGBUILD anymore. The project transitioned to cmake quite a while ago, so this very outdated build script simply won't work. BLumia has a working PKGBUILD for the current code base though, and I've transferred the maintainership to him. Hopefully he will make this a proper package soon.

There seems to be some error in the code -- fails to build for me. Many error messages (looks like syntax errors), too many to post here -- maybe it needs an older compiler version?
