This project looks to be useful.

But none of the example applications listed in the project readme actually seem to need it for JPEG XL support. As all of them can use kimageformats.

I guess it might still come in handy for lean, KDE/Frameworks-free desktops.

as of kimageformats 5.89.0-1:

kimageformats: /usr/share/kservices5/qimageioplugins/jxl.desktop exists in filesystem (owned by qt5-jpegxl-image-plugin)

EDIT: Saw the note on qt-jpegxl-image-plugin's github, apparently it's not recommended using them at the same time.
