The Qt5 plugins install to a path Arch's Qt5 doesn't search, so the platform theme never loads for Qt5 apps.

src/qt5/CMakeLists.txt falls back to lib/qt5/plugins when QT5_PLUGINDIR isn't set, and the PKGBUILD doesn't set it. On Arch:

qmake  -query QT_INSTALL_PLUGINS  ->  /usr/lib/qt/plugins
qmake6 -query QT_INSTALL_PLUGINS  ->  /usr/lib/qt6/plugins

Qt6's fallback (lib/qt6/plugins) happens to match, which is why only Qt5 is affected. With QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qtengine, Qt6 apps get the theme and Qt5 apps fall back to Fusion with nothing logged and the plugin is built and loadable. Setting QT_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib/qt5/plugins makes Qt5 work, which confirms it.

One line in _cmake_options fixes it:

-DQT5_PLUGINDIR=lib/qt/plugins

Tested on qtengine 0.2.1-1, qt5-base 5.15.19, qt6-base 6.11.1.
