@webreflection out-of-date literally means there is a newer source available and the AUR is not updated, so flagging it right now is unnecessary. On the other hand, i am planning to create a standalone app with only the bare minimum warp-svc bundled in QWarp, so we won't have to bundle the entire cloudflare-warp-bin as a dependency, reducing disk space even more. I will start the work on this along with some other features when i have time over the weekend :)

@ashutoshtiwari never mind ... there was a bug they have fixed in latest (just re-installed it) so I agree that makes qwarp irrelevant at this point ... yet if you archive the project this package should be flagged as out-of-date because, like you pinned, cloudflare-warp-bin now offers the GUI to handle Zero Trust.

Thanks for your effort though, it's been a life-saver for me for a few days 🙏

@ashutoshtiwari ... also, when you say:

The official cloudflare-warp-bin package (version 2026.4.1350-1 or later) has been updated with a new UI that provides all the functionality QWarp was created for

what do you mean? there's no GUI with cloudflare-warp-bin whatsoever ... Gemini/Google states the same, there's literally nothing showing up as GUI in here 🤷

@ashutoshtiwari

Could you explain why you're choosing QWarp over the new Cloudflare One Client?

for the exact reasons you stated:

I developed this simply as a UI replacement for cloudflare-warp-bin to toggle warp vpn easily through GUI (just like Windows) instead of terminal commands

AFAIK Cloudflare One Client is not a thing or not as easy to have it working on Arch, but if I am mistaken, and this is unnecessary burden for you to maintain, I'll dig/try more around the Cloudflare One Client thingy ... I just think this was spot-on, super easy to install and use, I already configured everything else properly and this just works, I don't want to waste time around a basic VPN thingy they are selling like the holy grail of security ... you know ... but I am flexible (and I find my own solutions, when needed).

You drop the archived status, my hint for out-of-date is that if a project is dead, is out-of-date out of the box because whatever update upstream or downstream won't ever be tackled ever again, so it's risky or pointless to even install a package already defunct.

@webreflection I developed this simply as a UI replacement for cloudflare-warp-bin to toggle warp vpn easily through GUI (just like Windows) instead of terminal commands. The app should still work flawlessly until any major changes happen in the warp-cli commands. So, flagging it out-of-date will not be appropriate here as per AUR guidelines. There are no pain points as such. Could you explain why you're choosing QWarp over the new Cloudflare One Client?

I am not sure how to react to this but thing I am sure is that this is extremely sad.

I just "complained" about dark mode but I also stated I couldn't care less if that wasn't possible, today I've learned the whole project has been archived.

Should we flag this package as out-of-date as no more work will ever be done, despite being a valuable helper for my daily Arch based needs that worked more or less like a charm?

@ashutoshtiwari mind exposing pain points or more reasons around your choice to abandon this? I might take over 'casue I need Trust Zero to work but I would like to understand why such "shut down" all of a sudden, it was a cool project/effort from you, thanks!
