@liberodark - just a belated thank you for sorting out the free vs non-free version of this package :-)
@agm28011997 - the "newer" package you referenced is not the same as this one. This one - the non-free version - provides a LOT more functionality than the free version. The free version is named "r-studio" in AUR. It is, admittedly, a bit confusing, especially is you factor R for Linux into the mix. ;-)

i have R linux 5.4 and it is complet version for free users in linux, change the name or make other package, I won't do because i didn't know how I did the package .. i base this upun the other R studio is all I can say

This appears to install with no issues, but when I run it I see only empty uniform grey windows on my desktop.
kernel 4.13.9-1-ARCH
xorg 1.19.5-1
xfce 4.12.1 (default desktop/colour palette)
