Thanks for the report! This is fixed in 3.99.0.16.1-2. CRAN had changed the source archive without bumping the package version, which is why the checksums didn't match.

Compilation fails due to changes to libxml2:

HTMLParse.c: In function ‘RS_XML_dumpHTMLDoc’:
HTMLParse.c:114:17: error: ‘xmlIndentTreeOutput’ undeclared (first use in this function)
