Also, I have errors after installation:

Package libusb was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libusb.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libusb' found
loader.c:28:18: fatal error: glib.h: Nie ma takiego pliku ani katalogu
#include <glib.h>

I have installed all dependencies.

_hgroot='http://bitbucket.org/ahixon'

the '/' at the end is missing
without it 404 error appears cause of:

hg clone ${_hgroot}${_hgrepo}

hi.
my webcam is:
[myhost]$lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05ca:1870 Ricoh Co., Ltd Webcam 1000
---------------------
After install package from AUR,
I got on my HP Pavilion DV1000:
[myhost]$loader
r5u87x firmware loader v0.2
Searching for device...
Error: Failed to find any supported webcams.
------------------------
Is any way to solve this?

td123 commented on 2011-02-20 02:56

disowning. upstream is dead + I don't have any supported hardware anymore.

td123 commented on 2011-02-05 00:45

upstream seems to be unmaintained, I posted to the forums calling for someone to create a new fork which would be seen as the official project homepage.

yep, like always, I get hardware that loves Windows and hates Linux...;-(
thanx anyways td123

td123 commented on 2010-08-15 16:36

sorry, I meant lsusb, but I guess you have a 05ca:1830

anyways...
http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/issue/11/dev-video0-doesnt-exists
http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/issue/48/cant-open-dev-video0
http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/issue/77/05ca-1830-dosnt-work

There are probably others.. point is, it doesn't look like this is a trivial problem :/

funkmuscle commented on 2010-08-15 16:16

no camera loaded when run dmesg
lspci shows no camera yet loader shows:

$ sudo loader
r5u87x firmware loader v0.2

Searching for device...
Found camera: 05ca:1830
Camera reports positive microcode state.
Camera reports microcode version 0x0100.
Not doing anything - camera already setup.

Successfully uploaded firmware to device 05ca:1830!

td123 commented on 2010-08-14 17:31

This package includes support for certain cameras.

Can you pastebin the output of lspci?

Not all cameras are supported.
You could check http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/issues?status=new&status=open to see whether your model has already been reported.
The only problem is that upstream development has seemed to cease. I am willing to assist you if you're interested in adding support for your camera ourselves.

funkmuscle commented on 2010-08-14 17:14

hey, does this work on 64bit? I have 3 different machines here and I could never fine /dev/video0.
on my Vaio VGN-SZ360P, this ricoh driver is not working....

Badredin commented on 2010-08-10 18:16

@td123
Yes it is strange! The first time I managed to install the package, it was by luck!
Maybe the problem is in the code of makepkg. I may look at it one day.

td123 commented on 2010-08-10 11:49

@Badredin
Thanks! What I still don't understand is why it worked sometimes and other times it didn't :/
Anyways, PKGBUILD is now fixed.

Badredin commented on 2010-08-10 08:48

I think I found out what the problem is: the last '/' from _hgroot=('http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/') must be removed.
It seems that an additional '/' gets appended in $_hgroot.
I tried the command 'makepkg -s' several times and now it works.

td123 commented on 2010-08-10 03:03

This is an odd one. It seems to work sometimes and other times it doesn't work at all..
I would guess that this has something to do with the way makepkg uses hgroot since outside of the pkgbuild, hg clone works everytime.

Badredin commented on 2010-08-09 15:42

I tried to install it today, but I got the same error as described in my previous comment.
It couldn't execute the command 'pulling from http://bitbucket.org/ahixon//r5u87x'.
I tried that link, and the problem might be the double '/' before r5u87.
But, after trying one more time to install it, it worked!

Badredin commented on 2010-08-08 17:26

After entering build(), it aborts with an 'abort: HTTP Error 404: NOT FOUND.'
I tried to find the error, but unfortunately I couldn't.
