@DarkShadow44: Good new, thank for the feedback.

@Xorg Thank you very much, it works now.

@DarkShadow44: I'm very sorry, I forgot to do that.
I have added the 'export' keyword (it's a bit strange, it was working for me), and after looking the Makefile, it seems the useless rebuild is due to version.h regeneration on each 'make' invocation.
It's fixed, sorry for the delay.

Any update on this?

@Xorg I found the issue.
The "build" function isn't needed, for some reason the "package" function also compiles the program. So the setting needs to be set there too, or it won't work.
Although that seems like odd behavior, "make install" shouldn't recompile the program.

Could you look into that, and add "amdgpu=1" to the "make install", too?

DarkShadow44 commented on 2017-05-05 21:57

@Xorg Thanks for the quick reply. I got it to work when compiling by hand, but the PKGBUILD still doesn't work properly.

> export amdgpu=1 && make
After that change it works. But not without export, although I can't explain why.

@DarkShadow44: Yes, this feature is turned off by default:
amdgpu enable amdgpu VRAM size and usage reporting, default off because amdgpu requires libdrm >= 2.4.63

libdrm version is 2.4.80, so I have enabled this feature in PKGBUILD.
Update your package, and it should be solved. :)

Works fine, but doesn't show VRAM usage.
> amdgpu DRM driver is used, but amdgpu VRAM size reporting is not enabled
> amdgpu DRM driver is used, but amdgpu VRAM usage reporting is not enabled
> Failed to get VRAM usage, kernel likely too old
An idea how to solve that?

@TrialnError: Of course! That's done.

Could the name of the downloaded tarball made more unique with adding ${pkgname}-${pkgver}.tar.gz:: in front of the download url?
This would make life easier for people which set SRCDEST in makepkg.conf

Thanks in advance
