As others have written, this is unfortunately the last OSS version of Rambox.
OSS alternatives:

Ferdium has very active development. It's based on Franz which is was stable fork of the open source version of Franz.
Hamsket is based on an older version of Rambox OSS.

AUR package of the new closed source pro version of Rambox: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rambox-pro-bin

hmm i think that in PKGBUILD line 27 should be in quotes, exactly that part: /opt/${_pkgname}/rambox

without quotes it gets error with target not found

@madjoe: Not sure if this is caused by this PKGBUILD or an upstream bug. I published v0.7.7-2 of this package which is now based on the upstream .deb-packages and does not bundle its own .desktop file anymore.

Maybe this fixes your issue. If not this is probably an upstream bug, please report here: https://github.com/ramboxapp/community-edition/issues

@jbbr: I have an issue with a notification icon in my panel, when a new WhatsApp message arrives. Instead of the white color changes to red (inside of the icon), a new "dummy" icon appears. Could you please check?

@steveoriol Can you try deleting the downloaded file and rebuilding the package? I just verified the linked downloads and checksums and everything seems to be fine.

@jbbr, just tested the new build; gmail, google-calendar, google-contacts (added manually) and discord are working 100%! Thanks!

@ahnafalrafi @spsf64: Could you please try the updated PKGBUILD? I changed some dependencies after inspecting actually linked libraries and upstream .deb-package dependencies.

Looks like they switched to gtk3: gtk2 & gconf is not required anymore

spsf64 commented on 2020-02-18 11:12 (UTC)

@jbbr, @ahnafalrafi; I compiled it without gconf and it seems to be working fine here.
