Could you add a PKGBUILD line to save new /etc/ramroot.conf as /etc/ramroot.conf.pacnew?

Otherwise a re-installation or upìgrade will overwrite configuration

@mags, Thanks. Yes I can follow your instructions but can this be included in scripts to make it more convenience? Currently I just connect a keyboard and press "N" to turn off it.

@Kokon, you can disable ramroot (and make any other changes) when boot from ram by mounting and chrooting into the filesystem.

Not so convenience for headless system via SSH. By setting ps_default=yes can enable it, but should connect a monitor and keyboard to input "N" to turn off it then ramroot -D to disable it.

I did try enable/disable and reboot. it still doesn't work. The readme of this git source https://github.com/arcmags/ramroot also confirms my finding.

I don't think so. Maybe you should: Disable ramroot, reboot, enable ramroot ,reboot.

I think I find the answer. Current version of ramroot does not run on kernel 5.10+ which is my current kernel. It works perfectly in kernel 5.9x

I encounter another problem. It works if I attend and choose "y" to load boot file system to zram. I edit ps_default=yes in ramroot.conf to set ram boot as default. It has this error: zramctl: /dev/zram0: failed to reset: Devices or resource busy ==> FAILED: error initialize zram device.

It works after adding lzo to Modules. Many thanks!

Did you add lzo to modules line in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf ? After mkinitcpio -P
