@xaos, I was able to reproduce this. It should be fixed in 0.8.5-2. Thanks for reporting!

Tests fail for me because of localization:

check-rarian-reg-utils.c:21:F:RrnReg:test_rrn_reg:0: Assertion '"The Beanstalk Manual" == reg->name' failed: "The Beanstalk Manual" == "The Beanstalk Manual", reg->name == "Das Beanstalk Manual"
FAIL check_rarian (exit status: 1)

Passed tests & installed without problems using LANG=C, but I don't know if that was the right way to fix this.

Took over maintenance, refactored the PKGBUILD and updated to version 0.8.5. Let me know if there are any issues. Thanks!

the package doesn't build in a clean chroot, I've just tested it right now using extra-x86_64-build. it reports the same error indicated by MarsSeed and by blackout 3 years ago

As there's an orphan request opened since august, before accepting or closing it, please let me know if you plan to fix this issue or please disown the package.

The next week 2023-11-12, if there's still no fix from you, I'll accept the orphan request

Fails to build exactly the same way as for @blackout in 2020.

@bidulock could you please upload a recent chrootbuild log so that I can compare it to non-chroot one and try to figure out what goes wrong and where?
