This package is not out of date -- please read the info about VCS packages before flagging https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_User_Repository#Flagging_packages_out-of-date

A deletion request was sent against this package because it is there in official Arch repo. The package in official repo builds the latest stable version and this builds the latest git commit. It is a standard practice to retain
package-gitAUR packages.shawny commented on 2025-06-23 14:06 (UTC)
@archisman Thank you for doing the leg work and your comments in the repo. It seems that there's work to do upstream. I'll shift to readest-deb, in the meanwhile.

@shawny If you want to use sync feature in Arch, please use
readest-debAUR. It unpacks the prebuilt deb package from GitHub, which is signed with the developers keys/tokens. Unfortunately, the official Arch package will never have the sync feature as the current development model does not support sync feature when Readest is manually built from source.archisman commented on 2025-06-23 04:26 (UTC) (edited on 2025-06-23 04:34 (UTC) by archisman)
@shawny After reading the github comments, it seems to me that sync only works with the developer's personal secret keys, and will not work if the package is built from source, so it will not work with AUR package or potential official Arch package (or official Debian package), because all these packages are built from source, without the developer's secret keys.

Hi. I submitted a bug request to upstream, and they said it looks like a problem with the package. Login via GitHub is broken. The specific error generated after approving in the GitHub UI is:
{"code":400,"error_code":"validation_failed","msg":"Unsupported provider: provider is not enabled"}The bug report thread with upstream contributor's feedback is here:
