@arand2 That fixed it. Thanks for the tip!

@K3fka As far as I've understood things, the compression error is due to the /tmp directory now being mounted as a tmpfs by default, i.e. located in RAM, combined with the fact that yaourt (and others?) use /tmp as the default directory for all content. The standard tmpfs for 4G RAM is less than 1G (assuming similar to Debian), hence won't fit tarball + unpacked source + built package of Red Eclipse, (~ 0.4G * 3). In the case of yaourt, one way around would be to use an on-disk tempdir: $ mkdir ~/tmp $ yaourt --tmp ~/tmp -Sab redeclipse Similarly one can set the TEMPDIR variable, which works for yaourt, and might do for other package managing tools? $ TMPDIR=~/tmp yaourt -Sab redeclipse Or set it permanently in the yaourtrc(5) ... Though troublesome, not a packaging issue, it's bound to affect any large package.

I get the following error when trying to install: -> Compressing package... xz: (stdout): Write error: No space left on device

I don't want to give too much importance to the problem but IMHO if it has been uploaded, it has been released and a bugfix should require a version number change (1.2.1, 1.2.0.1, whatever...). Anyway, the pkgbuilg has been updated to the last tarball.

It can be debated whether it was off icially released before :p but anyhow, the re-upload fixes a bad kickban bug, alongside the installation symlink.

Actually I just noticed on sourceforge that the source tarball has been updated less than 2 hours ago [1] without notice. That's not nice... I'll updated it soon. http://sourceforge.net/projects/redeclipse/files/redeclipse_1.2/

@Javafant: Did you try to download it again? Maybe you got a corrupted download? Can anyone else confirm this so I don't have to redownload it again for nothing? The source tarball I still have on my system has the correct md5 and the resulting package works perfectly.

cocreature commented on 2012-01-07 11:51 (UTC)

It's notworking for me because the md5 seems to be wrong.
