It looks like this package now does exactly what reflector-timer does

The country flag still doesn't work for "United Kingdom". As I've posted numerous times before, this argument needs to be specified like so:

-c "${COUNTRY}"

Please fix it. I have to edit the service file on every update.

@killermoehre: the defaults are always on, as you can not call reflector -p without an argument!
If one sets an empty string for one of the protocols in /etc/conf.d/reflector.conf, reflector fails to start.
If one removes PROTOCOL_{1,2,3,4} completely from that configuration file, it will be overwritten by the one in /usr/share/reflector-timer/reflector.conf.

Please fix this by using this in your service file:

ExecStart=/usr/bin/reflector -a "$AGE" -c "$COUNTRY" -l "$LATEST" -n "$NUMBER" --sort "$SORT" --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist "$PROTOCOL1" "$PROTOCOL2" "$PROTOCOL3" "$PROTOCOL4"

And using

PROTOCOL_{1,2,3,4}=-p protocol

in your configuration files.

@Alad You mean the way reflector-timer use?
That way we have to exactly specify any option we want to support when calling reflector, and each option should be given a default value. While the current implementation allows you to use any option reflector supports. And if you don't specify a option, the option will not be passed to reflector, other than passed with reflector-timer's default value.

Why not use EnvironmentFile in the systemd service? That way you don't need a wrapper script (nor arbitrary code execution by eval).

Would you mind adding an option for the protocol? That way you can specify to only fetch https mirrors.
