=> ERRORE: Makepkg non è riuscito a compilare libaal.

Jristz commented on 2017-04-25 05:27

The wiki mention that for root support a linux-reiser4 enabled kernel should exist alongside this but I can't find it.
Any idea?

intelfx commented on 2016-12-11 19:11

Just rebuild reiser4progs and libaal. I'll bump pkgrel when I get to it.

mokkurkalve commented on 2016-12-11 15:59

This package needs maintenance, or could be deleted. It doesn't work anymore after libreadline update.

sl1pkn07 commented on 2016-11-13 17:46

please adds to depends=()

reiser4progs 1.0.9 has been released. Please, update PKGBUILD.

Thank's for ideas

I had to rebuild libaal with options=('staticlibs'). Scimmia's idea.

Anonymous comment on 2014-01-22 01:37

Won't build:
"checking for aal/libaal.h... yes
checking for libaal version = 1.0.5... no
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop."

What should I do?

Here's a PKGBUILD without the ugly patch and with a proper build function:

Also copied below:

# Maintainer: Kovivchak Evgen <>

# Contributor: Dan Ziemba <>

pkgdesc="Reiser4 filesystem programs"
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
depends=('e2fsprogs' 'libaal' 'readline')

build() {
cd "$srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver"
./configure --prefix=/usr --sbindir=/usr/bin

package() {
cd "$srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver"
make DESTDIR="$pkgdir/" install

sl1pkn07 commented on 2013-06-05 20:14

add --sbindir=/usr/bin to configure rules

the ugly patch no need

test0 commented on 2013-06-03 18:54

Quick & dirty patch:
package() {
cd $srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver
./configure --prefix=/usr
make DESTDIR=$pkgdir install
mkdir $pkgdir/usr/bin
mv $pkgdir/usr/sbin/* $pkgdir/usr/bin/
rm -r $pkgdir/usr/sbin/

sl1pkn07 commented on 2013-05-31 10:52

need change bin path from /usr/sbin /sbin to /usr/bin

Scimmia commented on 2013-05-16 12:50

Building in the package function isn't a good idea. That's what the build function is for.

Scimmia commented on 2012-10-30 16:48

OK, updated all of the URLs, applied the patch (was included but never applied), and brought the PKGBUILD up to current packaging standards. I'm only experimenting with Reiser4 and don't intend to keep it on my system, so I'm not planning on maintaining this package.

official new url

use this dir:

to get the source file.

OrdinaryMagician commented on 2012-05-23 18:06

The location of the files changed, reiser4progs is not located at

I don't know what's going on about reiser4, this is the only mirror I've found without empty folders. Call me paranoid, but I believe there's something fishy in here.

Updated now; thanks!

why isn't this package updated?

Azulinho commented on 2011-10-16 13:34

src is no longer on, I was able to compile it using this source:

you may want to update the pkgbuild

mykey commented on 2011-01-31 21:27

after I compile this the binaries would not run, because they are bound to - the current readline version is 6.1 though - since symlinking also does not work the propper mak rulrs should be set.

Thank you, bruce, I've included the patch you mentioned.

bruce commented on 2010-10-19 06:15

Just wondering if this package would benefit from the patch announced here:

(it appears to apply cleanly)
Cheers :)
Turns out it fixes a rather annoying segfault in fsck.reiser4, so it is quite a useful patch.
cheers again
