With recent systemd update (210) there is no need to manually enable intel_backlight, systemd does it for you. All works out of the box. Sweet... :)

@richcocoa. First of all an average arch desktop user here(can read archwiki pages, no real programming experience). My acer v5-171 notebooks backlight control works with acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor kernel boot parameters. So i have a working /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight folder. systemd-backlight@.service saves and restores brightness value in acpi_video0 folder by default which doesn't work for me. I tried to change its behaviour but couldn't find a solution and thought it's hard coded into systemd. Anyways, reading systemd archwiki there is a way to start sevices without [install] section. I did:
ln -s /usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-backlight@intel_backlight.service /etc/systemd/system/

I dont't know if this creates any security vulnerability or sth similar.
Hope this helps.

@atsiz Can you tell me how to get systemd-backlight@.service to work? It has no [Install] section, so you cannot just "enable" it via systemctl. Your comment seems to suggest it works for you.

Can you help me too?...

It was written before systemd-backlight existed (afaik). I was unaware of systemd-backlight (which I suspect is new), but it does not seem to support profiles as relight does, so they are not the same. When I have some time I will explore the functionality of systemd-backlight to determine if this package is redundant.

No offence, there is already systemd-backlight@.service . Why does this exist?
