I have since dropped the AUR versions and downloaded the static GTK version and dropped the extracted folder in /home/ and now have no issue with it. Didn't have to play with permissions. Worked right out of the gate. I know wanting the files under / was most likely the issue. App creators need to learn there are times that using / doesn't work.

I'm quite sure it worked in 2.3.5, so something must have changed since then. He is quite quick to respond and fix things, so it probably will be fixed in next release.

Yea I had gone into the forum to check with Hans and he suggested installing 2.3.9 to see if it would fix the issue. I chose to download, extract, and simply copy the fonts to those two folders and 2.3.8 worked. The only thing from 2.3.5 was 2.3.8 reset all my settings. Anyway to back them up just incase 2.3.9 resets them? Thanks for the input. Please see the last 4 post here:

I have notified the developer about the font issue. In the meanwhile, copy the file from /usr/share/fonts/TTF/rmtv.ttf to ~/.local/share/fonts.

I just got the update and I get.

Unable to install "rmtv.ttf" font.

Tried installing in "~/.local/share/fonts and "~/.fonts". Both failed.

Please manually install the rmtv.ttf font and restart this one time so the installed font becomes available.

The issues is now fixed after some suggestion to the developer, and the installation works.

There is new versions available now, but have some issues with the application. Everything installs correctly, but the app is trying to write it's data files to the installation directory directly, thus gets access denied. Running it as root works, but that's not how is should be done. I have posted a comment about this, and hopefully it will be fixed.
