Thanks for reporting. I have release v3.0.0 and I hope it will fixes the outdated problem.

There is problem with versioning. After clean build, the reported version is 3.0.0.alpha1.r0.gcf3253e-1 or something like that. The package is shown as always outdated because of that.

I worked around the problem, by removing pkgver function inside PKGBUILD.

I opened an issue on github

astier commented on 2019-12-15 12:09 (UTC)

it also doesn't work with just makepkg -sisame error

shulhan commented on 2019-12-13 12:44 (UTC)

@astier I just tried installing rescached-git using yay, and its run fine. Maybe you should update yay to latest release or clean the directory /home/user/.cache/yay/rescached-git/.

astier commented on 2019-12-13 09:08 (UTC)

I accidentally deleted my comment yesterday. I said that the installation fails with the following error:

cp: cannot create regular file '/home/user/.cache/yay/rescached-git/pkg/rescached-git/usr/share/man/man1/': Not a directory
make: *** [Makefile:104: install] Error 1

@TX1683 I will do it at the next big release. Thanks for the feedback.

@astier I will look at it tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback.

@shulhan, I think that you should remove conflict with another DNS servers. Rescached allows specifying on which address and port number it listens, as well as other DNS servers so there is no conflict really. Also, removing dnsmasq resulting in failure when you try to start libvirt virtual network.

Thanks for the information. I will update the dependency on the next release.

asciidoctor --backend manpage README.adoc

make: asciidoctor: Command not found

make: *** [Makefile:71: rescached.1.gz] Error 127

I had to install asciidoctor, which is not listed in dependency list, then everything works fine.

edit: on second computer I had to also install golangci-lint-bin package (I was getting error from line 54 and then 47 in makefile)

@nicoulaj fixed on latest commit. [1]

shulhan commented on 2018-11-15 19:08 (UTC)

It was suppose to update the configuration due to major upgrade. I will push the new fix.

nicoulaj commented on 2018-11-15 18:52 (UTC)

The postinstall script deletes user configuration, why is that ? Configuration is deleted from disk after every upgrade
