Sorry for the long delay. The upstream project went through some major refactor and it's now hard to pack it as a system package (there's some code assuming that the plugin is installed to the user directory). Some patches might be needed (or even better, upstream PRs), but I don't have enough time. Let me know if you have any idea. Meanwhile, following the upstream instruction and installing to ~/.local would work more easily.
