Just a heads up if your colors break after rofi dropped xft: now that rofi is using only cairo, it seems that Xorg color names are no longer supported. So if your Xresources refer to color names, just replace them by the hex-coded version.

@TrialnError: thanks for the notification! Since rofi is linking explicitly with cairo (and not only just through pangocairo), it doesn't sound too absurd to add it as a dependency, does it?

There seems to be a dep change https://github.com/DaveDavenport/rofi/commit/8f1f03e6d23bd2fb6d3a9362c3cd9e0df779184f adds cairo and removes xft. If so, just xft needs to be removed, as cairo is pulled by pango

Same as with my comment on the AUR rofi page. base-devel packages won't be listed in PKGBUILDS https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Prerequisites
