I have finally updated the package to 2.1.0. It was a bit of a PITA, since it requires older versions of gssdp and gupnp, but those are in the AUR now, too.

Fax printer setup is greatly simplified in Roger Router 2, you just need to run:

lpadmin -p Roger-Router-Fax -m drv:///sample.drv/generic.ppd -v socket://localhost:9100/ -E -o PageSize=A4

No need to fiddle with groups or spooling device anymore.

Apart from that I am actually looking for someone who is willing to co-maintain this package with me. The last months made it clear that I lack the time to do bigger updates, and the changes with Roger Router 2 are quite significant. Also upstream, understandible, is focusing on the Flatpak distribution, hence build requirements and build procedure are no longer as clearly documented. For now I think this PKGBUILD is fine, but there could be some tuning in regards to what dependencies are really needed on runtime.

Please add gnome-keyring as dependency, because the login wizzard can not be used without it. Error message (if started from Terminal): Remote error from secret service: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.secrets was not provided by any .service files

I have updated the package to disable portaudio, looks like this feature is rather experimental anyway.

phw commented on 2015-03-11 18:37 (UTC)

@mpausch: I have never build it with portaudio installed, but I will see if this can be fixed. One solution is definitely to use the "--with-portaudio=no" option in the configure command to disable portaudio completely if you don't need it. Actually this is what I will probably do to fix it. I don't see any benefit in compiling it with portaudio support.

just tried to install the 1.8.11 on my box, but during build I get an error regarding libportaudio: Making all in portaudio make[4]: Entering directory '/home/user/temp/yaourt-tmp-user/aur-roger-router/src/roger-router-1.8.11/libroutermanager/plugins/portaudio' CC libportaudio_la-portaudio.lo In file included from /usr/include/speex/speexdsp_types.h:122:0, from /usr/include/speex/speex_echo.h:40, from portaudio.c:67: /usr/include/speex/speexdsp_config_types.h:13:9: error: unknown type name 'uint16_t' typedef uint16_t spx_uint16_t; ^ /usr/include/speex/speexdsp_config_types.h:15:9: error: unknown type name 'uint32_t' typedef uint32_t spx_uint32_t; ^ Makefile:556: recipe for target 'libportaudio_la-portaudio.lo' failed make[4]: *** [libportaudio_la-portaudio.lo] Error 1 portaudio package is installed on my computer: $ pacman -Q | grep portaudio lib32-portaudio 19_20140130-1 portaudio 19_20140130-1

Thanks for the reminder. For some reason I never got the out-of-date message :( Anyway, the package is now updated :)

I certainly know it is bad behaviour to ask for an update in the comments. But I already went the recommended way and flagged this thing out-of-date on 2015-02-01 (27 days ago). So I'm writing here to create a polite reminder in your inbox.

Thanks for the feedback. I have updated the package to 1.8.10. This also fixed the build issue that came up with one of the last GTK updates. Also the fax printer is working again for me (I never found out why it stopped, but looked like a roger-router bug to me).

While installing the package I got the following error: journal.c:1420:2: Fehler: »gtk_tree_view_set_rules_hint« is deprecated (declared at /usr/include/gtk-3.0/gtk/gtktreeview.h:246) [-Werror=deprecated-declarations] gtk_tree_view_set_rules_hint(GTK_TREE_VIEW(journal_view), TRUE); Then I tried to downloaded it directly from http://de.tabos.org/downloads. The make command ended with permission error.
