Hello, Wayland - KDE 6 - Nvidia proprietary 550.54.14 - custom linux-hardened based kernel here.
I had a "grey window issue" no matter what environment variable setting I tried. cf. java
I tried v5.30 and am currently using 5.40.20-beta-api.
I solved the grey window issue by disabling OpenGL as said this avnirvana forum post :
Honestly I don't get why this works, but at least I can use REW, so I thought it was worth sharing here. I don't know if this is to be officialised in the PKGBUILD or not, or if it affects other people than me (I think I found a few posts on manjaro forums as well)
However, I don't see the waterfall render with this configuration.
Anyway, Peace !

Just change the pkgver to 5.30 and rename the icon to install to roomeqwizard.png and it will build well.

I was building roomeqwizard and got a lot of lock-file permssion denied errors:
I managed to fix those by setting the user and system prefs path like so (changed installer invocation line, added -J-D parameters):

...I already have jack2 not pipewire-jack

@blackhole try installing
jack2
instead ofpipewire-jack
. I get a grey window and then segfault withpipewire-jack
but it does start withjack2

Just installed 03512c4ad708 (first time Roomeqwizard user) and when I then start the program I get
The GUI starts but it seems a little odd and I'm not sure if it's because it's a java app or because of the errors in the terminal when starting the app or because I'm using a tiling window manager (sway).
For example I cannot exit the Preferences popup once I open it...

Just updated but I have an empty window.
Archlinux fully updated with KDE Wayland

@AndyRTR. Added dependencies and override by Your instructions. Build worked both with pkgbuild on my system and with clean environment (archbuilder)
AndyRTR commented on 2022-03-07 20:37 (UTC)
I managed to build it using system jre and fixed the build using a clean chroot:
Please readd back: depends=('java-runtime=8' 'xdg-utils') makedepends=('java-environment=8' 'fontconfig' 'freetype2')
and build it using this export before calling the installer:
export INSTALL4J_JAVA_HOME_OVERRIDE=/usr/lib/jvm/default
This way the bundled jre won't get installed.
btw: search https://www.roomeqwizard.com/changehistory.html for "installer" - it says "Added a Linux installer option to enable OpenGL if waterfall generation produces an error" - So far I couldn't find this option in the installer .sh file to avoid our sed fix.
