When updating with yay I got the following error:

==> Retrieving sources...
  -> Found rootlesskit-x86_64.tar.gz
==> Validating source files with sha256sums...
    rootlesskit-x86_64.tar.gz ... FAILED
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
 -> error making: rootlesskit-bin

After removing rootlesskit-x86_64.tar.gz from ~/cache/yay/rootlesskit-bin/ it worked fine. Could you pick a unique name for the downloaded file? https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#Sources

Something like:

source=("rootlesskit-v${pkgver}-x86_64.tar.gz::https://github.com/rootless-containers/rootlesskit/releases/download/v${pkgver}/rootlesskit-x86_64.tar.gz")

It would be usefull to add "rootlesskit" in provides and in conflicts. The same way docker-rootless-extras-bin does with docker-rootless-extras.
