@senorsnor and Spixmaster: Could you post the output from "sudo journalctl" from a single boot that resulted in a freeze? All the text from booting up to the freeze.

I'm going to report this bug at the linux-wireless mailing list and I want to include as much information as possible.

I just upgraded my kernel and removed this driver. Ran an internet speed test and the whole system froze; hard reboot, opened chromium and immediately the whole system froze; hard reboot and now it seems to be working fine. I'm not too positive about all this, keeping an eye on it.

I too have serious issues.

First of all, I do not need this driver anymore. My WLAN card seems to be supported by Linux kernel 5.12. I do not know anything about RFE which is mentioned regularly with this driver. I can just tell you that the driver for me is provided natively by the kernel.

Although, it connects it causes crashes after that. Sometimes immediately and the other times after a few minutes. The errors are solved if I turn off the wireless connection. By crash, I mean that the whole system just freezes and does not react anymore.

Unfortunately, I need to use LAN for some time. I hope that this will be fixed soon. Another solution is to blacklist the kernel provided driver.

On 5.12.1 (with or without this driver) I have constant connection problems, disconnecting from network every ~5 minutes. I'm back on linux-lts and everything works fine, anyone else having this issue?

So I installed the linux and linux-firmware packages from testing, just to see how the upstream driver works. It seems to be faster than this driver, but I also had some system freezes that may or may not be related to using the wifi. Once when I opened Firefox, before it even appeared on screen, and once in the middle of a speed test running in Falkon. I'll keep using this driver for a while to see if it's something else in Linux 5.12.

I haven't seen them mention RFE 4 on the linux-wireless mailing list. There are only some unanswered emails from users. I've been watching that list for a while.

Unfortunately, I can confirm RFE 4 is not supported on Linux 5.12, so this driver is still needed on my laptop.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any plans for RFE 4 in the kernel?

P.S: Muito, muito obrigado pela driver @tomaspinho

I can confirm that this driver is not needed on Linux 5.12 in testing. My adapter is RFE 2.

Can anyone confirm that it is implemented in 5.12?

Sorry to keep asking, but goddamn have I been waiting a long time for this driver haha
